Overview:
A leading marine technology and safety systems organization is seeking an experienced
Lead Electronics Technician
to provide installation, troubleshooting, and field support for mission‑critical onboard equipment. Company truck and gas card provided.
Position Summary:
The Lead Electronics Technician is responsible for installation, repair, testing, and calibration of marine electronic and electrical systems. This role requires strong diagnostic ability, on‑call availability, and the capability to respond quickly to customer needs in real‑world marine environments.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair electronic sensors, alarms, monitoring systems, and control electronics on marine vessels.
Troubleshoot wiring issues, component failures, communication errors, and system‑level faults.
Respond to both scheduled and emergency service calls.
Travel to customer sites including vessels, terminals, and shipyards.
Perform calibration, testing, and verification of monitoring and measurement systems.
Use diagnostic tools, meters, and software to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
Support integration of electronic control modules and communication hardware.
Communicate clearly with vessel crews and operations personnel to identify issues and deliver effective solutions.
Document service reports, parts usage, system readings, and corrective actions.
Maintain a professional, safety‑focused presence at all times.
Follow all marine and industrial safety procedures.
Ensure all installations meet required codes, standards, and specifications.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in electronics, electrical systems, instrumentation, automation, or marine controls.
Strong troubleshooting skills with sensors, alarms, wiring, control circuits, and measurement equipment.
Ability to work 24/7 on‑call during rotation.
Proficiency in reading wiring diagrams and schematics.
Comfortable working on marine vessels, industrial sites, and terminals.
Valid driver’s license and ability to pass required screenings.
Prior field service experience in marine, industrial, or offshore environments (preferred).
Knowledge of tank‑level measurement systems, alarm panels, and monitoring/control equipment (preferred).
Familiarity with networking or communication protocols used in electronic systems (preferred).
Strong problem‑solving ability.
Hands‑on, mechanically and electrically inclined.
Self‑directed with excellent follow‑through.
Professional communicator in customer‑facing environments.
Highly safety‑conscious and detail‑oriented.
Compensation:
$38–$50 per hour.
