The Automation Technician II role supports our dynamic and safety‑focused work environment by maintaining our Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) and related automation equipment.
About The Position
Perform regular maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on ASRS and related equipment to ensure minimal downtime.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues within the ASRS, applying problem‑solving skills to resolve disruptions quickly.
Collaborate with the operations team to optimize ASRS performance, including adjustments to improve efficiency, reliability, and throughput.
Participate in the installation and commissioning of new ASRS components or systems as required.
Maintain parts inventory and repair records, completing accurate paperwork.
Develop preventive maintenance documentation on system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols while performing maintenance or repair tasks.
Use repair manuals and parts diagrams to troubleshoot all automated systems, including conveyor systems.
Communicate any abnormal damages to onsite personnel with a detailed description of the problem.
Maintain general cleanliness of the service area at all times.
Train operations staff on basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance tasks to enhance system knowledge across the team.
Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or technical school graduate required.
2–5 years of mechanic experience; prior experience with automated systems and conveyors preferred.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and PLC components of complex automation systems.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems on multiple types of equipment and systems.
Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to diagnose and resolve issues quickly.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey technical information to non‑technical team members.
Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Self‑motivated, self‑directed, highly responsible, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be able to frequently lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to safely operate lift trucks, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.
