Responsibilities

Be a safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.

Manage work backlogs for accuracy, taking into consideration requirements related to parts, labor, support equipment, special equipment, tooling, and instructions.

Maintain an accurate forecast that adheres to established maintenance strategies.

Work regularly with maintainers to build or improve detailed work packages.

Assist in the commissioning and decommissioning of equipment, and their maintenance programs.

Ensure that schedules developed by Management are being adhered to on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual basis, depending on the needs and maintenance recommendations of equipment manufacturers.

Utilize the work order backlog to select work orders for execution, giving priority to those jobs that will have an adverse effect on Personnel, Process, Property, or Production.

Ensure that job deadlines are met and that Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules are assigned proper priority designations—gauge necessity of additional resources and document work progress.

Assist in developing and disseminating detailed plans for extensive equipment repairs and overhauls; maintain oversight of the job plan and execution, track critical path during all projects and provide initial resource support and direct input on activity scheduling for short‑term and long‑term maintenance planning.

Work with all site functions to develop procedures and work practices.

Assume a leadership role in the day‑to‑day activities of the spare parts area.

Provide input into spare part stocking decisions based on receipt of work request, review scope of work, confirm job priority and requested completion dates and lead times.

Establish the minimum and maximum stock level for spare parts and ensure all the parts are on site when needed.

Work schedule is 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm Monday through Friday with some weekend shifts.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED equivalent required.

Previous lead or supervisory experience.

Strong mechanical knowledge and proficiency with a wide variety of hand tools and power tools.

Ability to troubleshoot, repair and maintain all plant equipment.

Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work with little to no supervision.

Demonstrated proficiency with oxy/acetylene torch and stick welding, MIG a plus.

Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner.

Must be able to work 8‑12 hour(+) shifts, weekends, overtime, and holidays as needed.

Must be able to work in outdoor environments and in elevated areas.

Physical Requirements

Must be willing to handle continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.

Must be able to perform all job functions which include walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, turning, climbing, and/or pulling of controls.

Exerting up to 100 pounds of force.

Regularly required to talk and hear in order to communicate to employees/visitors and to function safely around heavy rolling equipment.
