Overview As an Engineering Geologist Project Manager with Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will be responsible for managing current clients and developing new business, as well as managing projects, mentoring junior staff, and providing senior direction on a variety of projects. Your main responsibilities will include:
Conduct and/or oversee geological and geotechnical site investigations to assess ground conditions
Analyze soil, rock, groundwater, and other geologic data to determine their impact on engineering projects
Prepare geological maps, cross‑sections, and reports for project planning and design
Advise on the suitability of sites for various construction projects based on geological findings
Develop risk assessments related to geological hazards like landslides, earthquakes, and subsidence
Monitor and interpret data from field investigations and laboratory tests
Conduct environmental impact assessments and provide geotechnical recommendations
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and planners to incorporate geological data into project designs
Review and interpret geological data for planning and environmental compliance
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of advances in geological engineering and geology
The pay range for this position is between $65,000-143,000+ based on experience and location (in addition, CEC offers overtime pay and other great benefits).
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field
Professional Geologist (PG) or Certified Engineering Geologist (CEG) license
Extensive field experience in geotechnical investigations and analysis
Proficiency in geological modeling software and GIS applications, preferred
Experience with environmental impact assessments and remediation projects
Strong background in soil mechanics and hydrogeology
Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and industry standards
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in geological or geotechnical engineering
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Willingness to travel and conduct fieldwork in various environments
Knowledge of engineering principles and construction practices
