Primary Responsibilities The Civil Engineer will work as a member of the civil engineering design team on projects serving clients in the New England area. The role requires contributing to the design of civil engineering projects while prioritizing safety, health, and welfare of the public. Responsibilities include preparing plans, detail drawings, and quantity estimations for projects of varying sizes and complexities, covering highway and local roadway design, green infrastructure, stormwater management, drainage & grading, and multi‑modal transportation designs for clients such as MassDOT, MBTA, NHDOT, RIDOT, and the City of Boston.

Preferred Qualifications

4+ years of experience in Civil Engineering with emphasis on roadway and utility design, grading, site layout, stormwater management, complete streets practices, green infrastructure, and construction management.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.

Professional Engineer certification.

Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.

Attention to detail and exemplary work ethic.

Commitment to active participation in our employee‑owned culture.

Preferred experience with MassDOT, MBTA, and Massachusetts municipalities; recommended experience with other New England state DOTs.

Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D; optional experience with MicroStation OpenRoads.

Prior role in the AE industry preferred.

Local candidates given preference.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

Previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design.

Professional engineering license recognized by the local licensing board.

Hands‑on experience with Highway and Road CAD software such as Bentley ConceptStation, OpenRoads Designer, Autodesk Infraworks, and Civil 3D.

MS Office proficiency.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, concept alignments, geometric layout, and CAD base alignment plans.

Compensation ranges by location: Boston, MA $89,880 – $128,400; Providence, RI $81,291 – $116,130; Bedford, NH $81,291 – $116,130; Rocky Hill, CT $85,162 – $121,660.
