The Engineer Drafter is responsible for taking inputs provided by design and manufacturing engineers and using them to create models and drawings that meet engineering requirements.

Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities

Creates and modifies detailed models and drawings using CAD software from sketches, layouts, and/or notes provided by engineers.

Reviews drawings for correctness and conformance to standards.

Creates and updates drawing templates to comply with company and industry standards.

May perform tasks related to product data management (PDM) such as file maintenance, backup and storage.

Minimum Qualifications Education Level:

(Required)

High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.

(Preferred)

Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.

Field Of Study/Area Of Experience: 4-6 years of experience in post-high school education courses in mechanical modeling, drafting, dimensioning/tolerancing or 4-6 years related experience and/or training is required.

Skills, Knowledge And Abilities

Proficiency with engineering CAD software is required.

CATIA is preferred, SolidWorks is desirable.

Familiarity with composite design packages such as CATIA CPD or Fibersim is preferred.

Experience performing complex surface modeling for aerospace components is desirable.

Proficiency with ASME Y14 drafting standards is required.

Experience creating drawings for composites to ASME Y14.37 standards is desirable.

Experience reviewing models and drawings made by others and providing feedback is preferred.

Experience working in a PDM environment is preferred.

Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task.

Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision in order to meet deadlines.

Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and web-browsers.

Environmental & Physical Requirements Office / Sedentary Requirements Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds. This job is eligible for remote work after initial introductory period at the manager’s discretion.
