Position Overview
As an Assembler I, in our Final Assembly, Locomotive department, you will support a range of activities in a high-energy production environment, putting together the final assembly to manufacture the best rail vehicles in the world!
What your day may look like
Assemble units in the production of locomotives, including roofs, cable harnesses, mounted parts, electrical racks, panels, air supply racks, and piping assemblies.
Finalize low and high voltage connections inside and outside the locomotive.
Install and finalize piping with copper and stainless‑steel connections.
Installation of windshield for the locomotives
Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, and reassemble components as required.
Perform tasks requiring knowledge of various processes, operations, and equipment.
Work from production blueprints or diagrams, measure and cut copper or stainless‑steel pipes for plumbing fixtures, follow parts lists, wire lists, and verbal instructions.
To thrive in this role, you have
High school diploma or GED.
A minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
Proven experience with mechanical and electrical aptitude.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Experience with high and low voltage electricity.
Previous plumbing experience.
HVAC experience.
Sprinkler system experience.
Warehouse compressed air lines experience.
Safely use hand tools, power tools, and pneumatics.
Automotive/Engine mechanics experience.
Electrician experience.
Alarm system experience.
Lineman experience.
Additional Information Upon offer of employment, candidates will be subject to a background check and drug screen.
Candidates should be willing to work in non‑climate‑controlled environments and inclement weather if required or if applicable.
Physical Demands
Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Frequently required to climb stairs, steps, and ladders.
Frequently required to work on elevated platforms.
Perform work overhead.
Occasionally lift and move at most 40 pounds.

This position is located in Sacramento, CA. The base hourly rate for this position is $20.00 per hour plus a 10% shift differential for second shift. This is a second shift position. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
