Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Smoot, WV. Reporting to the Mill Supervisor.
Shift: 1st shift 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm.

Job Duties
Checking all equipment for proper safety attachments and guards.
Performing maintenance and preventive maintenance on all sawmill equipment.
Cutting, welding and fabrication.
Repairing and installing equipment.
Minor electrical repairs on industrial equipment.
Facility and grounds maintenance.
Serving as a backup for operators of various machines.
Performing any other work‑related task deemed necessary by the mill management.
Job Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
3+ years of relevant maintenance experience in a similar work environment.
Ability to work occasional overtime.
Prefer working with your hands.
Prefer to be on your feet all day.
Punctual and reliable.
Must successfully complete and pass a background check, employment verification and drug screening.
Positive and verifiable work history.
Physical Demands
Frequently pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting 20–50 lbs.
Frequent walking, standing, stretching, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, grasping, and repetitive movements.
Must be able to communicate, hear, comprehend, and write in English.
Frequently working in moderate noise up to 83 decibels.
Frequent exposure to dust.
Exposure to a noise environment requiring hearing protection.
Must be able and willing to work in a non‑temperature‑controlled environment, exposed to weather conditions.
Mental Demands
Make decisions.
Develop options and implement solutions.
Work with a team.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance (consistent with ADA and/or FMLA).
Attention to detail.
Communicate effectively.
