Job Summary

The Budget Analyst III manages advanced budgeting and forecasting, serves as the Hyperion reporting system administrator, and creates executive‑level presentations for senior leadership. This role requires a proactive, detail‑oriented professional with strong communication skills, executive presence, and the ability to turn complex data into actionable insights. Responsibilities

Perform advanced activities related to compiling and analyzing monthly financial result variances and complex budgeting forecasts. Analyze and compare actual performance versus budgeted or forecasted expenses, income, and capital expenditures. Verify, review, and perform calculations and analyses including projections/forecasts, variance analysis, operating expenses, share‑based calculations, revenue, capital expenditures, resource need evaluation, productivity analysis, and cash flow. Compile, verify, and review financial information such as budgets/forecasts versus actual expenses and governmental/regulatory reports. Provide information and guidance to employees, governmental and/or regulatory agencies, auditing firms, management and others concerning budgets, accounting processes, various financial reports and forecasts. Consolidate regional financial reporting and develop forecasts and estimates of future performance for multiple legal entities. Coordinate reporting with other departments for consistency. Serve as a team source of knowledge in accounting & compliance requirements. Review work of others and interpret procedures to determine proper system coding requirements. Compile, develop, analyze, review, and present budget and forecast models that simulate business activities for budgeting and forecasting. Advise employees from auditing firms, management, and others concerning planning, accounting processes, various financial reports, and forecasts. Make recommendations to improve current job and desk activities, and departmental and companywide processes and procedures. Qualifications

Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Experience performing complex accounting activities related to financial accounting, property accounting, account classification, or gas accounting. Experience with compliance requirements and thorough working knowledge of environmental, safety and operations compliance audits. Experience interpreting and applying generally accepted accounting methods and procedures. Experience with application of math, algebra, and statistical methods. Experience using office equipment including computers and applicable software. Experience in economic forecasting/modeling and company budget functions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in energy industry accounting functions. Experience researching, composing, reconciling, and preparing reports, invoices, studies, and correspondence applicable to position. Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English. Experience developing and presenting information to individuals and groups. Minimum applicable driver’s license. Mobility to travel in and around office facilities system wide. Employment Type
