Build-A-Bear Workshop
The HR Generalist supports our warehouse operations. This role is responsible for delivering comprehensive human resources services, including recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and training, while fostering a positive and productive work environment. The HR Generalist will thrive in a fast-paced setting and serve as a trusted partner to both employees and leadership.
Responsibilities
Recruitment & Staffing
Partner with warehouse leadership to identify staffing needs
Manage job postings, screen candidates, and coordinate interviews
Partner in onboarding and orientation for new hires, ensuring compliance with safety and operational requirements
Employee Relations
Serve as the first point of contact for employee concerns and grievances
Promote engagement programs and recognition initiatives tailored to warehouse teams.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, OSHA)
Support workers’ compensation processes and leave management (FMLA, ADA)
Maintain accurate HRIS records and personnel files
Training & Development
Support mandatory safety training and certifications.
Facilitate leadership development
Track performance reviews and assist with career progression plans
HR Operations
Administer benefits enrollment and open enrollment communications
Generate HR metrics reports (turnover, time-to-fill, engagement scores)
Support payroll accuracy and attendance tracking
Required Qualifications
2-4 years of experience in HR, ideally in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
Skilled in Microsoft Office, Teams & SharePoint
Strong knowledge of HR policies and procedures
Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
Experience with enterprise HRIS platforms
PHR or SHRM-CP certification
