Our client, a reputable importer, processor, and distributor of fresh and frozen seafood, is looking for an experienced and meticulous Human Resources Generalist. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of the HR department, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and HR policy implementation. This role provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with other departments, including Food Safety, LP/Safety, and Production in Tacoma, WA. Key Responsibilities

Serve as the primary on-site HR representative for daily plant operations. Manage full-cycle recruitment: posting jobs, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and onboarding new hires. Manage time and attendance and payroll functions for the facility. Provide support to employees on HR-related topics such as leaves, benefits, and HR policies. Coordinate new hire orientation and ensure proper documentation is completed, organize training & development initiatives. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HRIS systems and paper form. Assist with benefit administration of medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401K paperwork as well as COBRA and FMLA. Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation and resolve any issues that may arise. Assist in development and implementation of HR policies and procedures in compliance with state and federal laws. Manage leave of absence, workers compensation, benefit administration and ensure associates are informed of all changes. Partner with the Safety Manager and Plant Manager to maintain compliance with OSHA, Washington L&I, food-safety standards, and internal audits. Support performance management processes and employee development programs. Investigate and resolve employee relations issues with professionalism and confidentiality. Assist in planning employee engagement activities and wellness programs. Ensure compliance with WA employment laws and company policies. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, preferred. Proven experience as an HR Generalist with attention to detail and proven results. Minimum 5 years of HR experience preferred. Knowledge of WA Human Resources laws and best practices. Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion is a must. Bilingual in English and Spanish. PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification, preferred. Experience in food production, packaging, seafood processing, or related industries. Work Environment

On-site, standard office hours (M-F), with occasional flexibility as needed. Regular presence on processing floor required for employee support and safety compliance. Collaborative, team-oriented culture. May require occasional travel to HQ in the Bay Area, CA.
