Job Description The Insurance Specialist will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating insurance-related tasks to ensure efficient and accurate billing processes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of dental insurance policies, claims processing, and customer service.
This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
Key Responsibilities
Verify patients' insurance coverage and benefits prior to appointments.
Submit and process dental insurance claims in a timely and accurate manner.
Follow up on unpaid claims, denials, and appeals to ensure prompt resolution.
Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and team members to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient insurance records in the practice management software.
Coordinate pre-authorizations and referrals as needed.
Stay informed about changes in dental insurance policies and procedures.
Post insurance payments daily with accuracy and reconcile at the end of the day.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in dental insurance billing and claims processing.
Strong knowledge of dental insurance policies, procedures, and coding (CPT, ICD-10, and ADA codes).
Proficiency with dental practice management software and electronic claims submission.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
