Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, analyzing, and reporting cost-related data to support strategic decision-making and ensure accurate financial reporting. This role plays a key part in budgeting, cost control, and profitability analysis. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs. Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, documentation, and records. Conduct cost variance analysis and recommend corrective actions. Coordinate inventory stock take efforts. Provide target costs for each manufacturing department. Monitor inventory transactions and ensure accurate valuation. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Partner with operations, procurement, and finance teams to identify cost-saving opportunities. Support internal and external audits related to cost accounting. Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant accounting standards. SAP system related cost and expense provision, accounting, and month-end closing work. Accept other tasks assigned by superiors. Education / Experience / Skills
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA / CMA preferred. Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in SAP needed. Microsoft Office experience needed. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. High attention to detail and organizational skills. Experience
4 years of experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing or production environment. Experience in larger manufacturing facilities of $100 M or more. Experience with standard costing and activity-based costing. Familiarity with lean manufacturing. Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Strong communication and report-writing abilities; capability to present insights clearly to stakeholders. Uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve moderate to complex issues in creative and effective ways. Frequently applies technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques. Applies strong analytical and business communication skills. Organizes and prioritizes numerous tasks and completes them under time constraints. Demonstrated success in problem solving. Job Complexity
