About the Job We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant II to join our Tailored Brands Merchandise Accounting team. This individual will report to the Associate Manager, Merchandise Accounting and will be heavily involved in the 3‑way match process for inventory receipts as well as a key contributor to inventory in‑transit accruals.

What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities

Perform accurate 3-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.

Manage inventory in‑transit balances and support accruals for shipments en route.

Analyze inventory aging, cost variances, and operational discrepancies, providing insights that drive smarter decisions.

Become an expert in our inventory systems (PLM, Blackline) and champion data accuracy across multiple platforms.

Help document, review, and improve workflows, making our processes more efficient and effective.

Support the monthly close process, account reconciliations, and annual audits related to inventory and operational transactions.

Analyze the basis and outcome of accruals monthly and quarterly.

Collaborate closely with sourcing, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless transaction flow and data integrity.

Contribute to KPIs, reporting, and ad-hoc projects that enhance inventory management and overall performance.

What You’ll Bring | Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree (BA) in accounting required

5+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience

Inventory accounting experience and knowledge of US GAAP

Experience with ERP systems required (preferably PeopleSoft); Blackline Matching experience a plus

Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate variances, draw conclusions, and provide actionable insights

Ability to handle a high volume of transactions and meet deadlines under pressure

Detail-oriented and highly organized, able to manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Skilled in building relationships, collaborating across teams, and sharing ideas effectively

Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Aptitude and willingness to learn new software applications

Demonstrated problem-solving, initiative, and adaptability in dynamic, fast-paced environments

Committed to delivering high-quality, accurate work consistently

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands

Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time

Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach daily

Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally

Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment

Hours regularly 40 hours per week, as work dictates, from a remote office location.

Salary & Compensation The starting salary for this position is $61,100 – $93,600. Actual compensation within this range will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications. Over time, and subject to performance, tenure, and evolving responsibilities, total compensation for this role may grow to as much as $127,300.
