Senior Analyst, Investment Banking
– BDO Capital Advisors (BCA), Richmond, VA
BDO Capital Advisors (BCA) is seeking a motivated Analyst with previous investment banking experience to join its expanding practice in Richmond, Virginia. Candidates should possess a strong grasp of accounting, valuation, and modelling concepts and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. The role involves researching prospective clients, assisting in the creation of pitch materials, developing financial models, and drafting offering memoranda. Analysts participate in every stage of client engagements and gain exposure to a wide range of industries, including M&A and private placements.
Job Duties
Support execution and origination of M&A transactions
Develop financial models (DCF, accretion/dilution, LBO, comparable trading, transaction analyses)
Analyze companies and industries and work directly with client management teams
Prepare pitch books, offering memoranda, and management presentations
Organize and manage responses to inquiries from potential investors and coordinate diligence activities
Manage multiple projects concurrently
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent analytical and research skills
Solid organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
Ability to multitask independently or within a group
Experience working in a deadline‑driven environment
Understanding of basic accounting and valuation methodologies
Ability to travel as necessary
Education
Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred
Experience
One or more years of investment banking, private equity or related financial services experience preferred
License/Certifications
FINRA Series 79 and 63 licenses (required; if not held, will be obtained shortly after hire)
Software
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and research tools such as S&P CapitalIQ, FactSet, Bloomberg, and Intralinks
Salary Range National: $80,000 – $100,000 Maryland: $80,000 – $100,000 NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $80,000 – $100,000
