Job Overview Job Summary:
The Student Recruiter is a persuasive communicator and relationship builder with a passion for the great outcomes that can result from a Columbus State education. Leveraging industry knowledge and relationships within the corporate/workforce environment, this role promotes the College to the Central Ohio region. The position requires building rapport quickly with potential students, K‑12 partners, employers, and other key stakeholders. The Student Recruiter is adept at communicating to a diverse audience in a variety of settings and possesses strong presentation skills.
Compensation:
$48,064.95 per year (Salaried). Full‑time, 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities Recruitment
Represents and promotes the College, recruiting prospective students for Columbus State programs focused on program and major offerings at the Delaware Campus.
Arranges and conducts targeted recruitment activities, seeks to grow a pool of prospective students, and nurtures prospects through to admission and enrollment via mass communication and individual relationship building.
Maintains regular contact with future students and performs follow‑up communication to ensure progress through the application and enrollment process.
Collaborates with admissions and other college departments to facilitate enrollment; assists with on‑campus visits, campus tours, and event programming.
Project Management
Provides admissions and enrollment process information and assists with the application process and next steps for enrollment.
Explains program options, campus services, student life, and opportunities for campus involvement.
Assists individuals and groups, in person and through phone, email, and virtual/social media tools.
Tracks activities, evaluates effectiveness, and recommends outreach changes and improvements.
Building Relationships
Generates a network of contacts within the Delaware community to yield enrollment in Delaware Campus programs and majors.
Establishes relationships with K‑12 contacts (school counselors, educators, principals) to identify prospective students.
Collaborates with admissions leadership to align recruitment strategies with institutional goals and ensures best practices are implemented.
Works with academic department faculty and staff to promote program understanding and associated academic and career opportunities.
Administration
Tracks recruitment and engagement activities, evaluates effectiveness, and recommends outreach changes.
Maintains accurate records, completes documentation, inputs contacts into CRM, and prepares outreach activity statistics and reports.
Audits and tracks competitor activity to differentiate College programs and informs marketing efforts.
Culture of Respect
Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and community members.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Higher Education Administration, or a closely related field.
Three (3) years of experience in Recruitment, Marketing, or a Promotional Environment.
State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
Combination of education, training, coursework, and experience may qualify a candidate.
