POSITION OVERVIEW
Manages the HR function for the organization. Works with leadership, managers and training department to develop and promote human resources strategies for the organization. Oversees programs administered by HR, such as HRIS, Health/Welfare Benefits, liaison with payroll, retention and/or compensation. Responds to escalated HR personnel issues. Ensures organization is in compliance with regulatory requirements within the HR function.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages day-to-day activities of the HR staff to ensure compliance and employee satisfaction.
Recruits, hires, trains, and retains HR professionals.
Follows Family Medical Leave Act, educates employees and processes all paperwork.
Leads the design of health/welfare plans and open enrollment process.
Works closely with Finance to maintain compliance with annual budgets for healthcare.
Educates, coordinates and enrolls all employees in health insurance programs; ensures invoices are reviewed and processed in a timely fashion.
Guides managers through performance counseling, handles employee relations, complaints, and investigates issues as needed.
Develops written job descriptions and performance appraisals; ensures performance evaluations are conducted and salary adjustments tied to evaluations.
Assists in recruitment, selection, and training of employees; screens applications, arranges interviews, checks references and background on new hires.
Reviews requests from department managers for new or replacement personnel to ensure compliance with company and department budget; provides verification of employment and background checks.
Orients new personnel to facility, explains policies and procedures as outlined in the Personnel Handbook.
Collaborates with the training department in development, implementation, monitoring completion of staff development plans.
Participates in annual salary, wage and benefit surveys; ensures salaries are competitive.
Ensures accurate, up-to-date files on each employee; processes unemployment paperwork; maintains OSHA records; reports Worker’s Compensation claims.
Designs personnel forms and maintains all personnel records; reviews policies and procedures annually.
Assists in the payroll procedure; ensures compliance with federal and state employment regulations regarding wages, overtime, work hours, and unemployment compensation.
COMPENSATION Annual base salary ranging from $115,000.00 to $130,000.00 for Greenville-Spartanburg-Anderson, South Carolina Area. Compensation may vary by location and experience.
ADMINISTRATION Ensures accurate, up-to-date employee records; maintains payroll and benefits data; coordinates with multiple departments for regulatory compliance; processes paperwork for hiring, terminations, and status changes.

SKILLS AND EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or other relevant discipline preferred. HR Certification preferred. Knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines concerning personnel administration in a healthcare facility. Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office.
