ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly motivated

Technical Recruiter

to support full life-cycle hiring for a wide range of technical, engineering, professional, and administrative positions within the federal environmental, construction, and nuclear sectors. This role plays a critical part in building the workforce that supports GEM’s mission-driven projects across the nation. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and skilled in identifying top talent for complex and highly specialized roles. This position is full-time and will be onsite in the Knoxville, TN office. Responsibilities Full-Cycle Recruitment Conduct full life-cycle recruitment for both technical and non-technical positions, supporting hiring needs across engineering, project management, project controls, quality, security, administrative support, and specialized nuclear disciplines.

Collaborate closely with the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers to understand position requirements, project objectives, and skill sets needed for success.

Candidate Sourcing & Screening Source, identify, and attract qualified candidates using job boards, social media, professional networking, employee referrals, and targeted outreach.

Build and maintain strong talent pipelines for current and future openings across GEM’s technical service areas.

Review resumes, evaluate applicant qualifications, conduct phone screens, and prepare candidates for interviews.

Hiring Process Management Assist in developing effective recruiting strategies tailored to technical and niche positions.

Coordinate interviews and work collaboratively with HR to support hiring activities, including job descriptions, posting requisitions, and preparing offer documentation.

Ensure timely and accurate updates to the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to support compliance and efficient workflow.

Business Unit & Client Support Partner with business development staff, project teams, and leadership to identify staffing needs for federal, state, and commercial projects.

Support recruiting efforts for high-priority programs across locations such as ORNL, Y-12, Pantex, UPF, LANL, INL, SRNL, Hanford, and other DOE or national lab sites.

Communication & Collaboration Utilize strong communication skills to engage candidates and internal teams effectively.

Manage multiple requisitions simultaneously with agility, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Requirements Education & Years of Experience – Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience; additional, relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Must be proficient with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and online recruiting tools.

Must display strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Must be able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Skills Experience recruiting for technical, engineering, or federal contracting roles.

Familiarity with DOE, national laboratories, or nuclear industry environments.
