Magellan Federal is offering a personal financial services position at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana. This role involves delivering comprehensive financial counseling to military service members and their families.
Responsibilities
Provide personal financial counseling and management services directly to service members and their families.
Assist service members in establishing a spending plan for extended absences.
Develop and distribute informational financial materials to service members and families.
Coordinate, publicize, and deliver a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops covering military lifecycle topics such as arrival at first duty station, pre‑ and post‑deployment, and personal and career events outlined in DoDI 1322.34.
Respond to requests for age‑appropriate classes or seminars.
Utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication such as web‑based secure online chat or video‑based communications and secure video teleconference, as authorized by the OSD FINRED Program office.
Manage duty‑to‑warn situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol.
Communicate with leadership and participate in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information on trends and issues at the installation(s) assigned.
Participate in regular in‑services, training, quality‑improvement committees, or other contract activities as assigned or appropriate.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required (associate degree plus 4 years’ experience or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience may be considered).
3+ years of financial counseling experience.
Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
Must be bilingual in English and Spanish if required by the contract.
Ability to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation.
Must pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for Organizational Conflicts of Interest (OCI) process.
Must hold one of the following certifications: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC).
Salary and Benefits Salary range: $53,125 – $84,995. Additional short‑term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package may be available. Magellan offers health, life, voluntary, and other benefits supporting physical, mental, emotional, and financial well‑being.
