Griffith Roofing Company
Griffith Roofing is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our team. This role is responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates for commercial roofing projects and collaborating closely with management to ensure pricing aligns with margin and profitability targets. The estimator will also work directly with customers and field leadership to support projects from preconstruction through execution, ensuring work is delivered on schedule, in compliance with specifications, and within budget.
The ideal candidate brings deep commercial roofing experience, strong analytical and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple bids and projects effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Create detailed estimates and proposals ranging from $1M–$5M for commercial roofing projects for all market segments (industrial, institutional, etc.) and all roofing systems (BUR, TPO, PVR, EPDM, etc.)
Review and approve final bids before submission with Management
Work closely with estimators, foreman, subcontractors, and management to refine estimates.
Develop & foster relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Participate in bid presentations and negotiations.
Ensure strong vendor partnerships for competitive pricing and reliable service.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to procure materials and resources necessary for project success.
Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets and ensure they are adhered to throughout the project lifecycle.
Work with management and foreman to monitor physical progress and financial performance of projects.
Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and reports.
Serve as a senior voice in shaping how the department operates and contributes to the company’s growth.
Manage and mentor estimators and supervisors with an eye on preparing them to be best in class.
Develop and maintain an ongoing project pipeline in coordination with management.
Ensure estimating strategies align with workforce availability and productivity goals.
Meet sales and performance goals.
Work with colleagues and management to implement CRM, project management, and job costing procedures.
Stay informed about industry trends, products, and competitors to provide strategic insights and maintain a competitive edge.
Job Requirements
Must have at least 5 years of commercial/industrial roofing experience.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical training in roofing or construction management is preferred.
Strong sales skills with a demonstrated ability to identify and close sales opportunities.
In‑depth knowledge of various roofing systems, materials, and installation methods.
Manage company and customer demands.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Strong understanding of project management principles, practices, techniques, and tools.
Understanding of production and production metrics of field teams.
Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Office, Procore, etc.).
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
