Billing & Collections Specialist – Caregiver's Home Solutions
Employment type: Full-time | Location: Shelton, CT (On‑site) | Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM | Pay Range: $20.00–$23.00/hour

Position Overview We’re seeking a highly organized, tech‑savvy Billing Specialist to join our back‑office team. This role ensures timely, accurate invoices across a range of programs—veterans, private pay, state clients—and drives a clean accounts receivable aging report.
Key Responsibilities
Manually confirm caregiver shifts in Generations to prepare accurate billing files.
Primary biller for non‑Medicaid waiver clients across payer sources: private‑pay, DSS, respite, Veterans, CMS GUIDE model partners.
Issue invoices via QuickBooks (private‑pay & third‑party), VA portal, and act as back‑up biller for Medicaid Waiver clients using Sandata and DSSMaps.
Generate and distribute weekly Excel reports of open invoices; create additional reports for billing trends and management requests.
Maintain current accounts‑receivable balances; follow up with clients/payers to collect outstanding payments and resolve discrepancies.
Monitor and update client authorizations and eligibility statuses monthly; foster relationships with referral sources to resolve missing authorizations.
Collaborate with CHS Medicaid billing lead on project needs; work with real‑time monitoring lead on EVV adherence; partner with Client Care Team to track IOS, ensure schedules reflect accurate service delivery, and perform ad‑hoc duties.
Ideal Candidate Profile
3–5 years of billing experience (Sandata strongly preferred)
Familiarity with QuickBooks and Excel
Strong organizational skills with excellent follow‑through
Experience in home‑care, healthcare, or related services
Tech‑comfortable and willing to learn multiple portals/platforms
Reliable, discreet, detail‑driven, deadline‑focused
Bonus Points For
Experience with Generations, VA billing portals, or GUIDE Model partners
Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish)
