Kelly Services is searching for a Payroll Tax Compliance Specialist for a 4-month critical project with Water Technologies & Solutions.

This temporary remote assignment offers competitive pay and the opportunity to make an impact by driving payroll tax compliance for this industry leader.

Available Shift & Pay Rate

Monday to Friday, full-time (40 hours/week)

$20-$25/Hr (based on EXP)

Location: Remote (based in Pennsylvania; reliable high-speed internet required)

Typical Day

Leading efforts to register the company with all required state and local tax authorities

Proactively contacting state and local payroll tax offices to determine requirements and resolve issues

Executing and following up on payroll tax registration processes, including application and documentation tracking

Creating and maintaining clear records of registration numbers, agency correspondence, and filing frequencies

Managing large datasets in Excel—using pivot tables and VLOOKUPs to identify gaps and prioritize urgent jurisdictions

Independently driving resolutions by “picking up the phone” and troubleshooting directly with government representatives

Maintaining a high level of organization with hundreds of open cases

Ensuring compliance with agency regulations, internal processes, and confidentiality protocols

Qualifications

2–3 years of payroll administration or payroll tax experience required

Multi-state payroll registration experience strongly preferred

Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, large dataset management)

Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with government agencies

Experience with HR/payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, or Workday is a plus

Ability to work independently, demonstrate accountability, and manage multiple tasks or open cases at once

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
