UBS is looking for a Cyber Threat, Risk & Controls Data Analyst to play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization's digital assets and contribute to our cybersecurity posture.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze vast amounts of security data to answer complex proactive scenarios involving threats, vulnerabilities, trends, and compensating controls.
Leverage analytical skills across data and summarize findings to be consumed by Cybersecurity and Technology partners to better understand threat impacts on our organization.
Contribute to the enhancement of our cybersecurity posture.
Your Team Technology Information Security is a global organization within Group Technology delivering data‑driven solutions for our Cybersecurity and Information Security Office. Our offerings focus on high‑quality, actionable analytics partnering with thought leaders and leveraging security and asset data from sources across the technology estate. The team partners with cybersecurity colleagues in incident response and proactive risk/threat hunting such as identifying contextual risks, what‑if scenario analysis, remediation paths, and continual risk reduction.
Required Qualifications
Ideally 5 years of hands‑on experience with highly proficient data analysis and/or data engineering skills.
Ideally 3 years’ experience with Cybersecurity data domain knowledge and familiarity with cyber threats, risks and controls.
Experience with data query languages such as SQL, GraphQL and Pandas.
Self‑driven problem solving, assumption challenging and analysis skills; able to develop and implement data analysis methodologies for anomaly and trend identification, pairing with control event data to demonstrate threat/risk mitigation.
Automation capability leveraging scripting languages.
Nice to Have
Azure implementations (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Functions), Splunk querying (SPL) and dashboard creation experience, visualization experience in Tableau or PowerBI.
Python programming language experience (outside of Pandas and automation scripting), machine learning methods (e.g., NLP, clustering, regression).
Previous experience within a regulated industry such as finance or healthcare.
Strong analytical skills, deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, threats, tactics, and proficiency in data analysis techniques.
