Position Summary
The Global Education Office (GEO) is seeking a part-time student Videography Assistant to provide support for GEO Marketing & Communications. The position will assist primarily with creating engaging content for social media, filming original content for promotional and informational videos, and editing and updating existing videos. Other position duties include UNM brand building internationally and seeking out creative avenues for connecting with high school and college aged audiences. Work hours are flexible, but must be scheduled Monday through Friday, between 8 am and 5pm, with an average of 10 in‑person hours per week.
Essential Functions
Produce original videographic and/or photographic elements featuring campus life, events, and locations that highlight international education outreach activities
Edit existing content to elevate it to UNM brand standards; add supplemental graphics and subtitles and update information
Monitor and update GEO social media accounts, which cater to international, study abroad and ESL student audiences
Assist with developing and launching effective social media campaigns on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and other relevant social networking sites
Attend GEO in‑person activities and events to gather student testimonials and capture primary and b‑roll footage
Collaborate with the GEO marketing rep to ensure proper content and messaging executed online is relevant to organizational goals
Additional job‑related duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
Work experience and/or coursework in film, journalism, and/or marketing
Video editing experience using Premiere ProExperience with film equipment, such as cameras, microphones, and lighting
Applicants must demonstrate a positive work ethic, show initiative, be reliable, flexible, enthusiastic, and willing to learn; strong writing skills
Must pay attention to detail
This position requires occasional evening and weekend hours.
