Position Overview
Together with the junior accountant, the individual in this position will assist in the preparation of the monthly financial statements of several entities. This part‑time role (approximately 20 hours per week) includes both accounting and financial analysis responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for Controller review.
Prepare, post, and document journal entries with accuracy and completeness.
Review monthly reconciliations (bank, credit card, loan, intercompany, and balance sheet accounts).
Ensure consistent application of accounting policies.
Review general ledger activity and identify any necessary adjustments.
Collaborate with the junior accountant to verify daily transaction accuracy and to maintain consistent processes.
Prepare monthly reporting packages and variance analyses.
Support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
Assist Controller with ad hoc financial/credit analysis to support management decision‑making.
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
3+ years of relevant accounting experience.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online or comparable software.
Excel skills (including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis).
Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
20 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
Hybrid work arrangement (periodic attendance in office).
Located in downtown Salt Lake City, parking provided.
Coordination required during standard business hours for reporting and communication.
Compensation and Benefits
Approximately 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
Company‑sponsored 401k with company match (must work 1,000 hours a year to qualify).
