EDUCATION AND TRAINING SPECIALIST
Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD) at Chattahoochee, FL seeks an Education and Training Specialist to develop, evaluate, and coordinate training programs for the Developmental Disabilities Defendant Program (DDDP). Program Overview
DDDP empowers persons with developmental disabilities charged with a felony crime to acquire skills for successful future environments and to become competent to stand trial. Key Responsibilities
Develop, research, and deliver curriculum, lesson plans, and training materials for new employee orientation (NEO) and ongoing staff development. Plan, schedule, and coordinate in‑service training, ensuring compliance with all annual training requirements. Maintain the Learning Management System (LMS) database, monitor training accuracy, and provide monthly compliance reports. Administer the MANDT certification program, coordinate training schedules, and report certification status to management. Design and deliver specialized training, including quarterly staff updates and supervisory/operational training requested by management. Collaborate with Central Office Training staff to monitor online training compliance, generate status reports, and customize training programs to meet operational needs. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in education, training, or a related field and two years of professional experience in training, education, staff development, or an agency program area. Master’s degree can substitute for one year of required experience; a doctorate can substitute for the required experience. Knowledge of educational computer software (PowerPoint, Captivate, Adobe, video/audio production) and Microsoft Word. Proficiency in training principles, instructional design, and the ability to evaluate training data. Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills; ability to work independently and establish effective working relationships. Benefits
