Apital is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated
Cybersecurity Analyst
who thrives in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment. The successful candidate will be supporting major rail transit infrastructure projects.
The Cybersecurity Analyst monitors and defends transit IT and OT environments, including SCADA systems, signaling networks, fare collection system and passenger information systems, from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
Responsibilities
Monitor rail network, applications, and rail control systems for cyber threats.
Monitor cybersecurity health of CBTC, PTC, interlocking and other rail application systems for anomalies or breaches.
Analyze the logs among onboard, wayside, and central communication interfaces.
Investigate suspicious activities involving train-to-ground communication systems.
Assess cybersecurity implications of firmware updates for onboard train control units.
Investigate security incidents and anomalies in operational technology (OT) and IT.
Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to ensure secure configurations.
Track regulatory compliance (e.g., TSA Security Directives, NIST 800-82 for ICs).
Required Skills/ Knowledge
Understanding transit control systems and ICs/SCADA networks.
Strong knowledge of transportation sector-specific threats and mitigation.
Familiar with Cyber Security standards. NIST SP 800-82, IEC 62443 and others.
Familiarity with SIEM, IDS/IPS, and other threat intelligence platforms and tools.
Desired Skills/ Knowledge
Security certification such as CISSP, CCNA Cyber Ops, ISA/IEC 62443 Cyber Security Certificate, or NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) Trained.
