The City of Oak Hill is seeking an experienced and motivated
Building / Code Official
to lead the enforcement of building codes, zoning regulations, and property maintenance standards. This senior-level role plays a critical part in protecting public safety and maintaining the community’s high quality of life. Serve as the City’s designated Code / Building Official Supervise and manage Codes Department operations Review construction plans and issue building permits Conduct field inspections and investigations Enforce building codes, zoning ordinances, and property maintenance regulations Issue notices of violation and stop-work orders as needed Provide technical assistance to contractors, architects, and property owners Coordinate with the Board of Zoning Appeals and Planning Commission Maintain accurate records and reports Support stormwater management and NPDES Phase II compliance Qualifications
Certification as a Code Official, Building Official, or equivalent Minimum of 5 years of municipal code enforcement or building inspection experience Supervisory or management experience preferred Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations Excellent communication and customer service skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office and permitting/code enforcement software Valid Tennessee Driver’s License Competitive pay, based on experience. Salary ranging from $85,000 to $95,000 Health, dental, and vision insurance Vacation and sick leave Retirement through the Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS)
