Full Time Data Engineer — Location: Savannah, GA — Salary: $124,000 Our client is hiring a Data Engineer to help build and support modern data platforms that power analytics and reporting across the organization. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across database administration, cloud data engineering, and scalable data architecture. Responsibilities
Build and maintain data pipelines using Databricks and Microsoft Fabric
Support and optimize SQL Server environments, including performance, security, and availability
Design and maintain data lakes, lakehouses, and data warehouse solutions
Partner with stakeholders to translate data requirements into scalable solutions
Ensure data quality, reliability, and governance across platforms
Automate and optimize ETL/ELT processes
Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows and systems
Qualifications
Experience administering SQL Server (tuning, backups, security, HA/DR)
Hands-on Databricks experience (Spark, Delta Lake, notebooks)
Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and related analytics components
Strong understanding of data modeling and data architecture concepts
Proficiency in SQL and Python and/or Scala
Cloud experience (Azure preferred)
Familiarity with CI/CD and modern data engineering practices
Preferred
Microsoft or cloud data certifications
Exposure to data governance or compliance frameworks
