Primary Purpose Under general supervision, supports a safe and secure learning environment by monitoring student and staff activity, promoting adherence to campus safety protocols, and assisting in the prevention and de-escalation of incidents on the assigned campus.
Qualifications Education/Certification High School or equivalent
Special Knowledge/Skills
Ability to communicate with students, parents and staff
Ability to work independently
Ability to deal with problems involving several variables at one time
Certification and License Valid Texas driver’s license must meet insurability criteria.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules related to student conduct.
Conduct regular hallway patrols to ensure that only authorized individuals are present on campus.
Resolve conflict or confrontation between students and report disturbances to the appropriate administrator.
Work cooperatively with office personnel.
Assist law enforcement or armed security personnel as needed.
Notify police, fire department or other appropriate authorities of any situation requiring immediate attention.
Give directions or act as a guide to authorized visitors
Check doors and windows to ensure school facilities are secure.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
Ability to carry out instructions (written, verbal or diagram)
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
Continual walking and standing. Ability to work both inside and outside in varied climate conditions including adverse weather (hot, cold, inclement weather).
