Responsibilities
Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle and PostgreSQL database software
Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize queries and overall system efficiency
Perform routine database maintenance tasks, including backups, restores, and recovery procedures
Manage database security, including user access, roles, and permissions
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including connectivity, performance, and data integrity problems
Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with a strong focus on Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
Proven expertise in Oracle database administration, including RAC, Data Guard, ASM, and performance tuning
Demonstrable experience with PostgreSQL administration, including replication and performance tuning
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database)
Solid understanding of SQL, PL/SQL, and database scripting (e.g., Bash, Python)
