Summary Under minimal supervision, the technologist performs basic to complex diagnostic radiographic procedures as requested by a licensed physician. Exercises professional judgment in providing health care services, applying x‑ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups, from newborn to elderly. The technologist is multi‑skilled in mammography and will also perform procedures in bone density. Completes established competencies for the position within the designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Produces high‑quality diagnostic radiographs; assists practitioner with percutaneous localizations and aspirations of the breast; optimizes mammography procedures by completing QA‑QC protocols.

Qualifications

Education –

Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Preferred: Associate degree.

Certifications –

Required: ARRT (R, M), state license if required.

Required Alabama ONLY: ARRT (R), state license if required. Must obtain Mammography credential, ARRT(M), within 1 month of hire or placement in role.
