Waste Pro
Overview
Waste Pro is currently seeking energetic, detail‑oriented CDL drivers to join our fleet of refuse collection trucks. The position offers a $10,000 driver award, attainable every three years for those who meet specified criteria.
Responsibilities
Drive assigned routes safely and within prescribed times, following decision‑driving principles.
Collect, load, and dispose of garbage, yard waste, and recycling; unload at landfill or transfer stations.
Provide courteous and efficient customer service, maintaining a positive public image.
Perform daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections per Waste Pro procedures and DOT guidelines.
Maintain a clean truck, washing exterior weekly and inspecting under hood, under carriage, fluid levels, and air tires.
Execute manual duties to clean scattered refuse, operating truck hydraulics to empty large bins.
Prepare, maintain, and submit required company and regulatory reports and documents.
Ensure safety of all persons working on or around the vehicle during the scheduled route.
Comply with all Department of Transportation and state requirements for commercial operators.
Qualifications
Valid Class A or B CDL for the state in which the position works; clean driving record.
Minimum age 21.
Understand refuse collection policies, DOT and state requirements, and safety practices.
Full‑range hearing, vision, and body motion without correction.
Drive front‑end, side, rear‑end, or roll‑off loading refuse truck, observing defensive driving practices.
Manipulate heavy equipment levers; follow designated routes and schedules; maintain written records.
Speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co‑workers, dispatch, and supervisors.
Physical Work Requirements
Push or pull independently 50 lb. 800–1 000 times a day.
Lift independently 50 lb. from ground to waist height 800–1 000 times a day.
Get up and down from the cab 800–1 000 times a day.
Bend at waist and knees 800–1 000 times a day.
Work 8–12 h in extreme weather conditions.
Work Environment Operate in varied weather conditions—heat, cold, rain, wind; noise, vibrations, fumes, and odors.
Other Job Responsibilities
Attend corporation‑sponsored training courses as assigned.
Keep up to date on current technology relevant to Waste Pro operations.
Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
