Responsibilities Fire Alarm Service Technician 2 is responsible for conducting in‑depth inspections, advanced troubleshooting, and comprehensive repairs of fire alarm systems.

Conduct detailed inspections and thorough testing of fire alarm systems per NFPA 72, identifying and resolving complex issues.

Utilize advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and repair intricate problems in fire alarm systems, including VESDA systems and interconnected components such as elevators, HVAC shutdown, fire doors, and smoke control.

Maintain accurate documentation of service activities, including diagnostics, repairs, and system upgrades, completing testing reports in a timely manner.

Provide technical support to junior technicians, collaborating with team members to ensure high‑quality service delivery.

Respond promptly to service calls, emergencies, and system failures, restoring system functionality while upholding safety protocols and company policies.

Assist in the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of various fire alarm systems, including Notifier, Siemens, Edwards, Gamewell, Honeywell, Firelite, etc.

Perform complete site surveys for potential preventive maintenance inspections and fire alarm system changes/modifications, preparing labor estimates and material requirements.

Stay updated on industry advancements, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and optimize system performance, while pursuing and maintaining industry certifications.

Qualifications

Education: Minimum of high school diploma with 5+ years of related experience or 2 years technology degree with 4+ years of related experience.

Certifications

NICET Fire Alarm Systems Level II or pass NICET II exam within 90 days of employment.

Requirements

Ability to obtain US Clearance, minimum DoD Secret Clearance.

Above average level of attention to detail and professional work ethic.

Knowledge of NFPA 72 and OSHA Requirements.

Ability to function in a controlled, effective manner under stress.

Strong desire to continuously increase your skill set and take on more responsibility.

Above average communication skills with customers, other field personnel, office staff and sub‑contractors.

Abilities

The position requires the ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Candidates must demonstrate physical strength and stamina to perform various tasks, including but not limited to, loading, and unloading, operating equipment, and assisting in the transportation of various materials. Proper lifting techniques and safety protocols must be followed to ensure personal and team safety.

Relocates a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.

Works at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders.

Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis.

Possess good vision (may be corrected vision), the ability to see in color, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.

May use a standard ladder without exceeding the weight limit while carrying tools.

Tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.

Apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

Combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (including finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events).
