Base pay range: $51,412.56 per year – $68,430.24 per year.
Description The Administrative Office of the Courts is the operational arm of the Judicial Branch. The Hardin Family Court, Division I has an immediate need for a Staff Attorney. The Staff Attorney will be responsible for performing under the direct supervision of a judge, legal support relating to the court's docket.
Examples Of Duties Or Responsibilities
Perform legal research and record analysis pertaining to cases before the Court.
Draft opinions, orders, and judgments.
Assist court in editing and release of opinions.
Assist court in preparing jury instructions.
Advise court as to current changes in the law and recent decisions.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Advanced Degree – graduate of an accredited law school.
Experience, Training, or Skills: NONE.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: NONE.
Special Requirements: Must be a member of the KY Bar Association. A Staff Attorney must hold an active license with the Kentucky Bar. Candidates who are not yet licensed will be appointed to a Law Clerk position. Upon obtaining their Kentucky Bar license, they will be reclassified as a Staff Attorney and receive a 7% salary increase.
Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed in an office setting and requires regular attendance on-site at the designated work location. Some travel may be required.
