We are looking for a Data Engineer with strong experience in Microsoft Fabric to support the development, maintenance, and evolution of our enterprise analytics environment.
You will work within the Data Infrastructure team and collaborate closely with architects, AWS engineers, and Power BI developers.
The ecosystem is hybrid: AWS + Microsoft Fabric, with a strong focus on enabling self‑service BI and implementing robust data sharing between platforms.
Key Responsibilities 1. Microsoft Fabric Development & Operations
Build and maintain Lakehouses, data models, semantic models, and pipelines within Fabric.
Develop and optimize dataflows and ETL/ELT pipelines.
Ensure proper CI/CD deployment and environment stability (simplified compared to AWS).
2. Power BI & Reporting Enablement
Support the creation and maintenance of Power BI datasets and dashboards.
Manage Fabric capacity and optimize performance and refresh strategies.
Enable self‑service BI by preparing reusable datasets and curated tables.
Implement and maintain data federation between AWS and Fabric.
Collaborate with AWS data engineers to ensure smooth, secure, and reliable data sharing.
Troubleshoot integration issues and improve data accessibility across the platform.
4. Platform Maintenance & Support
Handle daily support requests, debugging, incident resolution, and performance issues.
Maintain existing solutions, refactor legacy components, and apply best practices.
Ensure compliance with internal standards, security guidelines, and quality processes.
Implement new Fabric features pushed by Microsoft’s product roadmap.
Work closely with the architect to adapt to new capabilities and deprecations.
Suggest improvements to architecture, workflows, and automation.
Mandatory Hard skills
Core Microsoft Fabric Expertise:
Fabric Workloads: Experience with Lakehouse, Data Warehouse,
OneLake: Understanding of OneLake architecture, data lake principles, and how Fabric integrates storage.
Dataflows & Pipelines: Proficiency in Data Factory pipelines within Fabric for ETL/ELT processes.
Power BI Integration: Familiarity with Direct Lake mode, semantic models, and optimizing datasets for reporting.
Solid SQL skills for designing and maintaining efficient data schemas.
Strong coding experience in Python (or similar languages) with a Test‑Driven Development (TDD) approach.
AI Coding Assistance experience.
Requirements nice to have
Understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
Familiarity with pipeline orchestration (e.g., Airflow).
Knowledge of data quality frameworks (e.g., Pandera, Great Expectations).
Hands‑on experience with AWS services: Athena, Lambda, Aurora, EventBridge, Glue, SageMaker.
