Capstone IT is helping our client to find a Database Administrator who will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing physical databases across multiple DBMS platforms. This individual will play a vital role in ensuring database availability, security, and integrity. The role requires hands‑on experience with relational databases like DB2, SQL Server, and Nucleus systems, and involves working closely with internal teams to resolve issues, support system performance, and implement upgrades. The candidate will also train staff, maintain documentation, and be on‑call for production support.

Responsibilities
Design, build, test, and implement physical databases.
Monitor and optimize database performance and integrity.
Troubleshoot and resolve access issues and database errors.
Implement and test DBMS upgrades and security patches.
Maintain documentation and data dictionaries.
Provide technical support and training to staff.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
4+ years of IT experience, with 1–3 years in a database environment.
Strong knowledge of relational DBMS (e.g., DB2, SQL Server).
Experience in client‑server architecture and at least one major system installation.
Familiarity with structured methodologies (e.g., 4FRONT).
Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
