Unit Clerk Coordinator – Excelsior Care Group
Join our dedicated team at Throgs Neck Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in the Bronx, New York. We are looking for a detail‑oriented, organized professional to serve as a Unit Clerk Coordinator, supporting nursing operations and ensuring smooth daily unit workflow. Your role will involve maintaining accurate documentation, coordinating communication, and providing excellent service to residents, families and staff in a compassionate healthcare environment.
Base Pay Range $20.00/hr – $25.00/hr (based on experience)

Full‑Time Pay Rate:
$20–$25 per hour (based on experience)
Key Responsibilities
Deliver new admission charts to units and initiate required admission forms.
Fax physicians’ orders daily (from previous shifts) and distribute faxed documents to appropriate departments.
Transfer daily vital signs and weights from assignment sheets to resident charts.
Maintain and restock supplies at the nurses’ station.
Keep the nurses’ station neat and organized.
Screen incoming calls for nursing staff and forward messages appropriately.
Schedule physician appointments for residents and relay information to nursing staff.
Initiate phone calls to physicians, family members, and personnel as directed.
Perform typing and clerical duties as directed by Nursing Administration.
Notify Food Service of dietary changes.
Maintain updated bathing schedules for nurse's aides.
Greet residents, families, visitors, and guests, providing information and directions in accordance with facility policies.
Order medical supplies under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services (DNS).
Assist with medical supply requests during the planned absence of the Central Supply Clerk.
Ensure residents and families receive the highest level of service in a caring and respectful atmosphere.
Candidate Requirements
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Strong knowledge of computer systems, system applications, and office equipment.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances require.
Willingness to learn new methods and incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
Experience in a nursing home preferred, but not required.
