Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing management of the Quality Management System for Blue Ops. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Design and implement all elements of the Quality Management System (QMS), including Supplier Quality Management systems.
Hire and develop the quality team to manage compliance, QMS development, continuous improvement and ongoing quality testing processes.
Design and implement all quality cells and processes, including resin testing, laminate sampling, etc.
Develop and implement the supplier scorecard in conjunction with the supply chain team.
Manage continuous improvement through a controlled CAR program, and ensure that changes are executed through a formal change management process.
Lead the development of the supplier quality management system and supplier component quality validation processes. Lead the SCAR process for quality resolution.
Participate in identifying, assessing and selecting qualified suppliers for key commodities (composites, electronics, propulsion, hardware, and marine systems).
Manage day-to-day quality activities, including in‑coming product verification, chemical testing, laminate strength testing, and critical to quality checks.
Ensure compliance with ISO9001, AS9100, and other defense/aerospace quality requirements. Manage all internal compliance process requirements, such as documentation and reporting on quality and compliance requirements.
Track quality KPIs (defect rates, first time yield, …).
Manage purchasing budgets and contribute to cost‑reduction initiatives.
Maintain accurate quality records and report quality metrics to the organization.
Be an active member in product development, ensuring all QMS elements are in place for new products and robust validation processes are applied to first article builds.
Partner with Engineering on sourcing new materials and supporting design‑for‑supply‑chain initiatives.
Build strong relationships with our supplier partners to ensure alignment and success for the Blue Ops mission.
Work with the sales team to establish the aftermarket support processes that ensure rapid response for our customers in the field.
Safety:
Personally lead by example by adhering to all safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety of you and your team.
Ensure proper PPE, tools, equipment, and material handling equipment is used correctly.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
Be an active safety committee member, leading safety improvements and training.
Manage all material handling and chemical storage processes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Engineering or comparable field
10 years Quality Management experience, developing and leading teams and quality management systems
Strong ERP and materials management technologies expertise
Strong relationship‑based collaboration skills to work with our suppliers and internal partners
Knowledge and relationships in the marine, aerospace, military or automotive industry
Familiarity with OSHA and other manufacturing management practices
Strong understanding of ISO‑lean manufacturing practices
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality work safely
Confident computer skills to use Microsoft solutions
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Experience supporting DoD or regulated production environments
Familiarity with export regulations (ITAR/EAR), hazardous materials, and shipping documentation
Deep knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001, or similar quality systems
Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods of time
Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in designated areas or when performing specific tasks, in accordance with safety protocols and company policy
May be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch during assembly processes
Regular exposure to facility operations including noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment
Occasional off‑hours or weekend work required for emergency facility responses or projects as needed
Requires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment for documentation, communication, and coordination tasks
Background Check This position will require successfully completing a post‑offer background check. Qualified candidates with a criminal history will be considered and are not automatically disqualified, consistent with federal and state law.
