The position sits within the newly consolidated Data and Analytics (D&A) organization supporting the U.S. Business of MetLife. U.S. D&A assists all business lines of MetLife’s U.S. business (about 2/3 of MetLife Global by earnings) with everything related to data, analytics and data science, from data infrastructure, data governance, data engineering, data modeling, data analysis to business intelligence, data science and AI.
Role Overview MetLife is seeking an experienced Master Data Management professional to lead Global Party Management capability under the U.S. Business D&A Organization. Reporting directly to the AVP, Head of MDM and RIS, this position will serve as a technical hands‑on Product Owner and manager of the Agile teams supporting the Global Party Management (GPM) capability. The role focuses on enabling a unified Customer 360° view, supporting compliance, driving operational efficiency, and improving customer experience through robust master data, data governance, and integration management.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with IT, D&A, and business teams to develop the GPM roadmap, intake, prioritize and resource projects to enhance customer master data and deliver value for strategic initiatives.
Provide hands‑on technical leadership for master data architecture, data models, mastering strategies, data integration with APIs and other ingestion patterns, and engineering data pipelines with embedded security, access controls, and data governance best practices.
Establish and enforce standards for operational excellence to ensure GPM is a high‑availability, high-reliability, high‑quality master data platform.
Stay updated with industry trends in master data, analytics & AI to provide thought leadership and bring new concepts and ideas to MetLife.
Process Optimization
Track and report on KPIs for MDM operations (e.g., SLA compliance, incident rates, resolution times).
Identify pain points and develop strategies to improve operations and master data quality.
Drive automation and scalability initiatives.
Data Governance & Quality
Champion modern data governance and stewardship practices, leveraging automation and analytics to proactively monitor, report, and improve master data quality.
Establish data quality standards and collaborate with IT SOR owners to ensure high‑quality customer data propagates through the organization.
Create approaches to consistently enhance master data quality metrics.
Agile Delivery Management
Utilize Agile framework to manage GPM agile teams and workstreams, facilitate Agile ceremonies, and drive continuous improvement using team and delivery metrics.
Stakeholder Engagement
Engage and influence key stakeholders across business, IT, and vendors to align the GPM roadmap with strategic priorities, promote ownership, high confidence, and wide adoption of GPM initiatives.
Team Leadership
Coach and mentor a geographically distributed team of data analysts, data engineers, mainframe developers, quality analysts, and data stewards.
Enable a cultural shift from a traditional operations & technology‑focused data team to a business‑outcome‑driven mindset.
Foster a culture of growth, accountability and innovation.
Drive high levels of team engagement.
Required Skills
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
8+ years of experience in data management, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of Master Data Management platforms, data integration technologies and data governance frameworks.
Proficiency in SQL, Informatica Power Center, Informatica MDM platform and API integration.
Experience with agile methodologies and tools.
Strong strategic thinking, systems thinking and analytical skills.
Effective presentation skills, excellent communication, and stakeholder management skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Skills
Experience in insurance or financial services industry.
Advanced certifications in data governance or MDM.
Experience with Data Quality tools such as Ataccama.
Location & Compensation This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in the office. The expected salary range for this position is $100,000 – $137,700. This role may also be eligible for annual short‑term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
