Position Summary The Team Lead, directed by the Director/manager, serves as the highest level of technical support to all customers. The Team Leader demonstrates expert knowledge by supporting multiple end user groups. The Team Leader leads user groups to identify and solve business problems with all available technology including hardware, software, databases, and peripherals. This position also requires broad and deep technical experience related to studying and analyzing system's needs, system development, systems process analysis, design, and re‑engineering. The Team Lead demonstrates highly developed skills and experience in business management, systems engineering, operations research, and management engineering. This position typically requires specialization in multiple software or business applications utilized in an end user environment. The Team Leader will keep abreast of technological developments and applications to proactively initiate enhancements to mitigate future problems. This position may require on‑call responsibilities and rotational shift coverage (early and late shifts). The position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation. Acts as a liaison to other AtlantiCare departments.

Qualifications

Minimum five (5) years' experience with the application, module or equivalent systems as assigned.

Advanced knowledge of the assigned applications in multiple functional areas.

Expert knowledge of the assigned applications in at least two functional areas.

Ability to mentor Analyst I, II and III.

Minimum one (1) year experience managing medium to large projects.

Valid New Jersey Driver's License.

Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science or Healthcare related field or Associates degree with 10 years healthcare information systems experience.

Performance Expectations

Assists the management team with strategic and tactical planning activities.

Works with vendor relations staff and management team to assist with development of business terms in contract negotiations.

Leads the team to align work efforts to meet timelines and proactively manage any barriers to success.

Participates in evaluating staff competencies, performance and evaluations.

Participates in developing staff Performance / Development plans.

Acts as first level escalation point for staff.

Facilitates cross‑training of staff to assist in their career development, improve job satisfaction, and increase collective expertise of the IT department.

Leads by example, motivates and promotes positive team morale.

Coordinates application upgrade schedule while adhering to AIT process/policy.

Monitors, reviews and implements necessary process changes in collaboration with leadership team.

Demonstrates ingenuity, self‑reliance and resourcefulness, taking needed action without direct instructions.

Manages projects, including team assignment, project lead, workload balancing, etc.

Facilitates user process improvement through system enhancements and optimization, i.e., automation of tasks.

Proactively manages regulatory system requirements to meet required timelines, understanding downstream impact on business operations.

Possesses logical structured thinking abilities and can develop sound business cases for planning and critical decision‑making.

Advanced presentation and facilitation skills.

Assumes team responsibility in decision‑making in absence of the Director.

Excellent communication, customer focus, attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; strong interpersonal skills.

Supports IT needs in line with business goals of AtlantiCare.

Participates in system design, validates and remediates sessions.

Develops training materials, policies and procedures with other Technical Information Analysts.

Ensures smooth and thorough turnover process to technical and operational support.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Utilizes ITIL framework in incident, change and problem management services within AtlantiCare.

Advanced experience with Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.

Working Conditions Works with computer terminal, fax machine, copier, and telephone. Requires repetitive motion, fingering, hearing, pushing, reaching, reading, calculating, seeing, speaking, standing and walking a majority of the time. Occasional driving also required.

Reporting Relationship This position reports to department leadership.
