About The Role As
QA Manager , you will lead all quality and food safety programs at the plant level, partnering across operations, sanitation, R&D, and supply chain to ensure consistent production of safe, high‑quality product. You’ll serve as the primary liaison for regulatory inspections and audits, drive training and compliance initiatives, and manage the performance of a team of QA professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead food safety and quality initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulatory, GFSI (SQF), and internal standards
Serve as point of contact for USDA, FDA, and other agency inspections
Conduct audits on sanitation, GMPs, pest control, allergen programs, and HACCP/HARPC systems
Ensure QA team is properly trained, resourced, and aligned with plant‑wide safety and quality objectives
Oversee environmental monitoring, product testing, and traceability programs
Monitor product formulations, specifications, and finished goods to ensure accuracy and consistency
Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing quality trend data and root cause analysis
Collaborate with production and suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve processes
Maintain accurate recordkeeping to meet company, customer, and regulatory documentation standards
Assist in product development efforts and implementation of new SKUs or raw material changes
Supervise, coach, and evaluate QA team members
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field (required)
5+ years of quality assurance experience in a regulated food or beverage manufacturing environment
Certified SQF Practitioner & Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI)
Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, SQF, and regulatory compliance standards
Experience supervising QA teams and leading external audits
Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to interpret technical data, specifications, and regulatory requirements
Bonus Points For
Prior experience with dairy, meat, or allergen‑heavy production environments
Bilingual (English/Spanish)
