About This Role Immediate need – hiring now. We are looking for a skilled Telecom Lineman to join our traveling crew. Contracts span the Pacific Northwest and the West Coast, encompassing many western states.
As a field position, travel is expected and required. You will work at various sites as needed, including locations across multiple states.
What You’ll Do A successful Telecommunication Lineman must have knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures and techniques – including pole placement, anchoring, tool usage, reading and understanding prints/maps, safety rules, and operating instructions. Services may include placing poles, anchors, guys, aerial strands and cable, direct buried pipe, trenching, conventional and directional boring, underground conduit systems, inside wiring, cabling, testing, and maintenance services.
Daily Responsibilities
All phases of telecommunication construction: loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various types and weights of construction materials and equipment.
Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable.
Safely use hand tools and equipment (wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, etc.).
Safely operate mechanized equipment (bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, etc.).
Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers.
Flag traffic when required.
Understand separation and clearance regulations.
Work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders.
Adapt to working in multiple locations.
Travel as required.
What You’ll Bring Qualifications
Must pass a pre‑employment drug screen and background check.
Possess a valid driver’s license (Class A Commercial) or be eligible and willing to obtain it.
Good driving record required.
Basic knowledge of and ability to safely operate utility trucks and equipment.
Basic knowledge of and ability to safely use hand tools and equipment.
Can communicate effectively with customers, employees, and others.
Willing and able to work in all weather conditions.
Can climb telephone poles and work in bucket trucks, aloft, and up to 40 ft.
Can lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed.
Travel is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunication industry.
Work Environment This is a full‑time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week. Work is outdoors and exposed to weather conditions including extreme cold, rain, sleet, snow, humidity, high temperatures, and high wind. The environment may also expose you to natural gas and electrical shock risks, and moderate to loud noise levels.
Physical Requirements Ability to stand for long periods (up to 12 hours), tolerate extreme weather, speak and hear safety instructions, and repeatedly lift, stand, climb, kneel, reach, crouch, and crawl. Must lift 50 lbs regularly. Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Compensation Range USD $27.00 /hr – USD $45.00 /hr, depending on experience and qualifications. Pay is based on knowledge, skills, and abilities.
