Senior IT Project Manager PCG is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to join our team in Lenexa, KS. The Senior IT Project Manager leads complex, cross‑functional IT projects from Discovery through Closure, overseeing multiple projects and software releases, mentoring project managers, and driving continuous improvement in project management practices.
Essential Functions
Lead high‑impact projects from Discovery through Closure, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Oversee project planning, resource management, and execution for multiple concurrent projects.
Serve as primary escalation point for project risks and issues.
Portfolio, Release & Handoff Management
Coordinate and oversee software releases across multiple projects, ensuring readiness and quality.
Plan and execute handoff of support responsibilities to Application Support after releases.
Collaborate with DevSecOps to design, implement, and maintain release pipelines for reliable deployments.
Drive CICD release planning strategies and automation integration across projects and teams.
Maintain hygiene within Project Management and Portfolio Management platforms.
Lead Project review meetings and facilitate JAD sessions within the project group and business leadership groups.
Lead and facilitate PI Planning sessions to align teams, define objectives, and ensure delivery commitments across multiple Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
Environment & Architecture Transition Oversight
Lead initiatives for environment and architecture transitions (e.g., UDE migration), ensuring governance and risk mitigation.
Resource & Capacity Management
Collaborate with Resource Managers to allocate resources and resolve conflicts.
Mentor and coach project managers, fostering professional growth and best practices.
Monitor and provide oversight of project resources from a Resourced vs Estimated vs Actual use perspective to ensure cost containment and delivery timeframes are met.
Vendor Engagement
Establish vendor coordination strategies for Delivery, UAT, Support Handoff, and other critical phases, including escalation frameworks.
Identify and collaborate with Vendor relationship owners to ensure that Vendors can meet project needs and timeline.
Technical Training Coordination
Partner with Technical Training to ensure end‑user training needs are identified and addressed for all project deliverables.
Assist in PM team development and capability advancement strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement
Build and maintain strong relationships with business sponsors, stakeholders, and technical teams.
Deliver executive‑level reporting and presentations on project status and outcomes.
Process Improvement & Governance
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, standardizing processes and tools.
Ensure compliance with internal policies and governance standards.
Implement transparency practices, including dashboards and reporting frameworks.
Risk and Change Management
Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues across projects.
Lead change management efforts, ensuring smooth transitions and stakeholder buy‑in.
Contribution Towards Team Scorecard KPI Targets
Accountable for meeting PM Team KPI targets in project data hygiene, process compliance, stakeholder communication, proactive forecasting, and responsible AI adoption, as defined in the PM Team Scorecard.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Advanced expertise in Agile and Waterfall methodologies, including portfolio‑level planning and governance.
Deep understanding of CICD release strategies, automation integration, and DevSecOps collaboration.
Ability to lead environment and architecture transition initiatives at an enterprise scale.
Proficiency in tooling migration planning, risk mitigation, and integration strategies.
Strong vendor engagement and escalation management especially for Team Alignment, UAT, & Delivery phases.
Exceptional stakeholder management and ability to deliver executive‑level reporting.
Skilled in mentoring and coaching project managers, fostering team development and certification planning.
Expertise in process improvement, governance compliance, and transparency practices (dashboards, reporting frameworks).
Strategic thinking with ability to align projects to organizational goals and manage complex dependencies.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of IT project management experience, including leadership of complex, cross‑functional projects.
Proven experience with CICD release planning, DevSecOps collaboration, and environment transition oversight.
Demonstrated success in vendor coordination, risk management, and change management.
Advanced project management certifications preferred (A‑CSM, PSM‑II/III, CSP, or PMI‑PMP).
Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills with experience in executive stakeholder engagement.
Ability to mentor and develop project management talent and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
