American National is currently seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our
Service Oriented Architecture Team . This role focuses on developing enterprise-grade integration solutions using
IBM IIB/ACE
and
IBM API Connect
technologies. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for building scalable, secure, and high-performing APIs and integration workflows.
This position is available onsite at our League City, TX location.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement robust integration workflows using IBM Integration Bus (IIB) / App Connect Enterprise (ACE) and IBM API Connect, aligned with enterprise architecture and security standards.
Develop scalable and secure RESTful and SOAP-based APIs for internal and external integrations.
Perform data transformations across XML, JSON, and other formats, incorporating encryption, authentication, and validation.
Utilize Java, Go, and JavaScript to build reusable orchestration components and custom connectors.
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for cloud-native deployment with traceability and rollback capabilities.
Collaborate with QA and operations teams to validate integration flows and ensure smooth transitions across environments.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues across distributed systems.
Support cross-functional integration initiatives, maintaining consistency in design patterns and service governance.
Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming), contributing architectural insights and technical estimations.
Provide architectural input on integration strategy, tooling, and scalability, including support for custom frameworks.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, CIS, Computer Science, or a related technical field (preferred).
Minimum 5 years of experience in object-oriented programming using Java, .NET, Go, and JavaScript.
Strong proficiency in SQL, XML/JSON, and web service protocols (SOAP, REST).
Proven expertise in IBM integration platforms: IBM IIB, ACE, and API Connect (5+ years preferred).
Familiarity with IBM MQ and message-oriented middleware (a plus).
Hands‑on experience with scripting languages and cloud‑native development tools.
Solid understanding of enterprise integration patterns and microservices architecture.
Strong communication, analytical thinking, and time management skills.
Demonstrated success working in Agile/Scrum environments with cross‑functional teams.

Compensation Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, including training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
