About the Role:

This hands‑on IT Manager role oversees all technology operations for a manufacturing environment. This position blends tactical support with strategic oversight and requires an individual comfortable working on the plant floor, managing infrastructure, and executing continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities Of The IT Manager

Lead the IT function in alignment with organizational policies and operational goals.

Train and develop IT staff; manage performance and corrective actions as needed.

Oversee departmental goals, budgets, vendor relationships, and technology roadmaps.

Communicate system status, project progress, and key metrics to leadership.

Design and implement systems that connect production equipment, sensors, and legacy machines to capture real‑time operating data.

Ensure system uptime, performance, and integration between manufacturing and business environments.

Evaluate and deploy new technologies that enhance connectivity, data collection, and efficiency.

Plan, design, and maintain IT infrastructure including networks, servers, virtualization platforms, cloud services, and enterprise applications.

Ensure secure and reliable operations across all locations.

Oversee backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity programs.

Develop and enforce cybersecurity policies addressing threats, vulnerabilities, incidents, and data protection requirements.

Provide hands‑on support across office and manufacturing environments, serving as the escalation point for the System Administrator.

Preferred Qualifications Of The IT Manager

Prior IT leadership or management experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Strong background in IT infrastructure, networking (LAN/WAN/VPN), virtualization, Windows Server, Active Directory, and cloud technologies.

Experience with ERP/MRP systems and integrating manufacturing equipment with business systems.

Familiarity with MES, automation systems, industrial networks, and IoT devices.

Understanding of SQL servers and cybersecurity fundamentals.

Comfortable working on the production floor when needed (e.g., pulling cable, troubleshooting equipment).

Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with leadership and cross‑functional teams.

Bonus Qualifications Of The IT Manager

IT certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, Microsoft certifications, or CISSP.

Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
