Investigator
Position Summary:
Magna Legal Services is seeking an Investigator to join our team! As an Investigator, your job is to conduct comprehensive investigations on behalf of clients, including lawyers, corporations, insurance companies, and individuals. The primary goal is to gather accurate and timely information and evidence to help clients make informed decisions or build a legal case. This position will be primarily in the field in Houston, TX and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
Case building: From start to finish, investigators work to structure investigations based on client requirements.
Surveillance: Conduct discreet surveillance using high-tech equipment and appropriate vehicles. This includes pre-surveillance research and providing timely progress updates to clients.
Background investigations: This involves thorough research into criminal records, civil litigation history, driver's records, and vehicle ownership.
Skip tracing and locating: The investigator's role includes locating witnesses, tracking down individuals for collections or evading process service, and researching phone numbers and asset ownership.
Asset location: Conduct thorough asset investigations, which may involve forensic accounting to track money.
Process service: Serve legal documents as approved investigators under the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure (T.R.C.P.).
Evidence retrieval: Assist with document research and evidence retrieval, potentially including the restoration of deleted data from digital devices.
Report writing: Document all investigative activities, observations, and findings in detailed reports for clients.
Interviews: Interview witnesses, potential witnesses, and other parties to gather information relevant to a case.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Strong ability to identify issues accurately and quickly
Excellent oral and written communication
Excellent organizational and observational skills
Outstanding levels of morality, integrity, and responsibility
Highly analytical
Preferred Candidate
At least 1 year of experience in a similar job
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Compensation USD $30.00 - $35.00 per hour.
An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
