Job Summary and Responsibilities The Contract Specialist II, reporting to the Network Operations/Contracting Manager, plays a critical role in managing contracts within the PHSO. This position demands a strong grasp of healthcare regulations and contract law to develop, negotiate, and oversee a variety of agreements, including service, provider, and vendor contracts.

Draft, review, and negotiate contract language and rates, ensuring all documentation is accessible to DHMSO staff electronically and in hardcopy.

Ensure contracts comply with relevant laws and organizational policies, collaborating closely with legal, finance, and compliance teams to mitigate risks and secure favorable terms.

Monitor contract performance, compliance, and renewal dates, and maintain a comprehensive contract management system for accurate record‑keeping.

Act as primary contact for external partners on contract matters, organize and attend relevant meetings, and perform general office and clerical duties.

Secure one‑case agreements with non‑contracted providers when needed and provide administrative support to designated management staff.

Work‑from‑home within California, preferably in Central or Southern CA regions.

Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications

6+ years experience working in a high‑level administrative support position.

2+ years working in a medical group, health plan, hospital or other related healthcare organization. In‑depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, Stark Law, and Anti‑Kickback Statute.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Law, or related field.

Proven track record of successful contract negotiation and administration.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Law, or related field preferred.

8+ years experience working in a high‑level administrative support position preferred.

4+ years working in a medical group, health plan, hospital or other related healthcare organization preferred.
