4+ Year Plaintiff FCRA Litigation Attorney - Class Action & Consumer Rights | New York, NY A specialized boutique law firm is seeking an experienced plaintiff-side FCRA litigation attorney to join its consumer protection practice in New York City.

Handle high-impact class action and individual FCRA matters, protect consumer rights, and work on cases that make a meaningful difference in people's lives.

At this law firm, attorneys manage complex civil litigation cases, including commercial litigation, class actions, and vaccine injury.

Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate and manage plaintiff-side FCRA matters, including individual and class action cases involving credit reporting violations, background screening errors, and consumer reporting agency misconduct

Conduct comprehensive legal research on FCRA statutory provisions, case law, and regulatory guidance to support case strategy and motion practice

Draft sophisticated pleadings, motions, and discovery documents, including complaints, class certification briefs, summary judgment motions, and dispositive motions

Oversee all phases of discovery, including propounding and responding to written discovery, conducting and defending depositions, and managing document production

Collaborate with team members to develop innovative case strategies, identify legal issues, and maximize case value for clients

Engage directly with clients, providing counsel on legal rights, case developments, and strategic decisions

Participate in settlement negotiations and mediation, advocating for clients' interests and achieving favorable outcomes

Stay current on developments in FCRA law, including legislative changes, regulatory updates, and emerging case law trends

Contribute to the firm's growth through creative problem-solving, case development, and identifying new opportunities in consumer protection litigation

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials

Admission to the state bar in good standing (New York Bar preferred; other U.S. jurisdictions considered with willingness to waive in)

Minimum of four years of litigation experience with substantial focus on FCRA matters on the plaintiff side

Proficiency in pleading, motion, and discovery practice, with demonstrated experience drafting complex litigation documents

Excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills, capable of crafting persuasive briefs and conducting sophisticated legal analysis

Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking abilities, with a proactive approach to case management and development

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate with colleagues and communicate clearly with clients

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Passion for consumer protection and plaintiff-side litigation, with a commitment to advocating for individuals against corporate defendants

Experience with class action litigation is highly advantageous, including class certification briefing and multi-party case management
