Corporate Purchasing Director Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Purchases equipment, supplies, spare parts, and services to support construction of new facilities. Sources goods and services. Expedites orders and provide regular status updates to the construction team. Negotiates pricing and other commercial items in order to drive cost savings and overall value. Negotiates contracts and/or purchase agreements for raw materials, spare parts, supplies, services and equipment for new projects under the direction of management. Communicates with construction team to fill their day to day purchasing needs. Ensures contract compliance. Tracks project progress in relation to contract terms. Applies contractual measures to maintain project schedule and budget. Negotiates change orders as needed. Audits purchase orders and requisitions for clear, correct and specific information. Compiles, stores and retrieves purchasing records. Builds and manages vendor relationships. Participates in meetings as necessary. Analyzes market trends and applies this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions. Supports strategic sourcing initiatives. Ensures that correct contracts are in place with vendors. Performs other duties as required. Education and Experience:
Required: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field. Five years of experience in capital project procurement. Skills/Abilities:
Microsoft Office applications required. Well-developed interpersonal, oral communication, and writing skills. Flexible, adaptable, and organized; can handle numerous tasks simultaneously without losing focus; ability to properly prioritize work. Detail minded and delivers quality work products. High commitment to work processes, procedures, and systems. Commercial negotiation skills. Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to work in an office environment which may include long periods of sitting. Occasionally required push, pull, bend, climb, and perform long periods of standing and walking on cement foundations. Occasionally required to stoop and kneel. Occasionally required to climb stairs. Use of PPE required in specific areas. Work Environment:
Chemical Manufacturing site, in the presence of chemicals Works in a professional office and manufacturing environment Diverse/Multicultural workforce Fields calls during nights and weekends in the event of emergencies, with potential call out if needed. Benefits
